A victim of the economy..sort of...

A few days ago I was let go from my day job. They stated it was because of "Budgetary issues" and that they had a need for someone with a "More applicable skill set". The truth is , I got laidoff because I had too much going on. That day job was suffering because I was working nights and not caring about work the next day. Showing up late , and just wasn't doing very well at my gig. Even with that being said , I was still bummed. I really liked most of the people there. But its time to move on...

I am now in the market for a full time live mixing gig. Thats the new deal. No more spreadhseets if I dont have to. Just mixing. It's a little scary, but it is very exciting. Change is good for me and good for my sanity.

Life is getting crazy....

Touring season is here... I have 1 tour to book....and its hard...reallllllly hard.... ;-)

Dude 4am....suck

Last night I worked at bottom of the hill doing the door. Pretty rad. I made about 40 bucks in tips (sick) and hung out with a friend I haven't seen in ages. Too bad I am not going to be there for the rest of April...My schedule is getting crazy. I am working for the Brava theater doing a show that runs until the end of April , on top of the day job...so B.O.T.H may be out for the month of april...

In other news I think I might shave my beard today...shit is getting out of control..

Long days...and even longer nights...

Last night I worked at Bottom Of The Hill and had a blast. I love that place. Seriously the people there are like a second family. So nice and accommodating. The bands that were playing were pretty good , at times, and gave me a run for my money when it came time to set up.

Tonight its off to meet a new perspective employer to let me mix there. :-) Then its a late night LPM meeting with Fight Pretty's manager. Hes a good dude , and hes got some killer ideas.

I am kind of excited...

Hi. It has been awhile...

Well hello there! It has been a bit , so let me first apologize for the lack of posts. I have been a busy boy these last three months. Lets start with summarizing shall we...

For those of you who don't know I currently work my days at a software company. I wont name it now, because it may end up being in a report that I have to do every time I go in. It's a great company and the people are fantastic. The work can be a bit dull , but the laughs keep me coming back.

I work nights, occasionally, at this lovely club called Bottom Of The Hill. I work there when I can, for free mind you, helping out the audio engineers work. Some nights I get lucky and I mix. Which makes me really happy. It's the reason I left LA , and it's the reason that I look forward to being tired in the AM.

Another my endeavors is a great little company that I joined with some friends of mine called LOST PENGUIN MEDIA. We do music marketing , Brand Management, Endorsements and my job , Tour Support. This involves me booking bands for fun road trips playing their music to people who want to listen. While they have the fun , I will be worrying about money , cars , hotels , mixing , eating , spreadsheets , how their manager is going to yell at me, how their label may yell at me and how Steve will say "Its all good dude...I am having a glass of wine and a newport light 100..." We have a couple of perspective bands including THIS ONE , and THIS ONE. We are all signed up with this insane metal band called Gojira. They rule as dudes, and as musicians..

I should be on tour by this summer which will be fantastic.

On a personal note its been pretty up and down. I have had a bit of heartbreak, but I have also had some great times. I even went on a diet and lost 20 pounds. Pretty stoked about that! It is amazing to be back in the "YAY-Area" more specifically back in the "Bernal Dwellings". I put some photos below just so you can see what its been like...

Hey everyone. Sorry to be so lame about the blog. I have been a bit a busy. So let me update you on the happs...

So I joined Union Local 16. The stagehands/audio/video union. I have had a few gigs that have come through and I even got my first paycheck. WOOO! Things are looking up.

I placed an AD on craigslist asking if anyone needed a sound man. I got a bunch of responses that should lead to some interesting jobs. :-)

I got new airwalk slip ons. They rule.

The dodgers are in the playoffs. Gay. The cubbies are *hopefully* going to sweep them. Which would be way rad. Because the dodgers suck a lot...

I should be back to party in LA on october 30th. So if you are there lets hang...
